SoulCycle And Sweetgreen

Hello my lovely readers! I had the best Saturday ever last weekend, know why? Because I found my soul AGAIN at the one and only SoulCycle. My Co-worker Elizabeth and I each grabbed an open bike for a Saturday afternoon class at Chestnut Hill in Boston, MA. Now for all of you who don’t know what SoulCycle is, I’ll do my best to explain this phenomenon that people have referred to as an “obsession” and even a “cult”.…in a good way of course.

Let’s get started…

When I Pulled Up

As soon as I entered SoulCycle, friendly employees greeted me with a huge smile. One thing SoulCycle requires is a rider to have spinning shoes that clip onto the pedals of the bike. This makes a huge difference because it provides stability, safety, and helps target the proper muscle groups. So I got my shoe rentals and I was on my way!

The Ride

SoulCycle instructors are not only hired because they are great but they also have to inspire and motive their class. The instructors name was Bridget and this girl was so cool! “How’re we doing today Boston!? Get up, let’s go!” Just like that the lights were OFF, the music was ON, we bounced off our seats, started pedaling, and the ride had BEGUN.

She had a great playlist. She incorporated push-ups, tap backs, intervals, and hand weights. While pedaling we took our hand weights and started the arm workouts. She motivated us to never stop. “If people out there tell you that you can’t, in here you can!” We were almost at the finish line, “Come on Boston, finish strong!” I found myself pedaling so fast I wholeheartedly lost myself in my movement. And just like that, the 45-minute class had ended; I was drenched in sweat, but otherwise completely satisfied and filled with endorphins.

SoulCycle is such an enhancing and soulful workout, I believe everyone should try it at least once.

Sweetgreen

After our workout, we went to Sweetgreen.

It’s one of my favorite spots to eat the best green stuff. One thing I love about them is their indigenous ingredients, meaning everything is local and organic.

If you haven’t checked them out, please do so. They have five core values that are completely genuine and inspire people to keep eating there. Elizabeth and I both ordered the guacamole greens from the menu. I added in kale because as you all probably know by now I’m obsessed with kale!

They also have great drinks. I mixed the carrot, turmeric fresca with the cucumber, ginger, lime fresca, and a splash of the lemon fresca.

I went a little crazy; but I’ve had turmeric on my mind for the past week and I was so happy to see they incorporated it, so naturally I mixed all those drinks together.

Overall it was a great Saturday and such a beautiful day in Boston!
